Individual Machinery Units

The RII Training Package includes individual machinery units that can be delivered to provide specialized training in operating heavy equipment used in construction and mining environments. These units ensure that learners are competent in handling machinery such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and graders. The training involves practical, hands-on experience in the safe operation and maintenance of machinery, with a strong focus on compliance with WHS regulations and operational efficiency.

VOC (Verification of Competency)

Having a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) deliver the VOC process ensures that the assessment meets regulated industry standards. RTOs are registered and regulated, meaning they must adhere to strict quality controls and compliance requirements, which guarantees a consistent and high standard of assessment. This level of oversight may not apply to non-RTO providers, making RTO-led VOC processes more reliable in terms of safety and competency validation.

With an RTO delivering the VOC, employers can be confident that assessments are conducted by qualified professionals using industry-approved methods. This ensures that operators are properly evaluated, and any gaps in skills or knowledge can be addressed through additional training if necessary. The involvement of an RTO also ensures that the VOC process is fully aligned with regulatory and safety standards, providing assurance that workers are competent to operate machinery safely in high-risk environments like construction and mining.

Standard 11

Standard 11 is a mandatory mining induction program required for anyone working in Queensland’s coal mining industry. It covers the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to work safely in mining environments. The program focuses on risk management, workplace health and safety (WHS), hazard identification, and emergency response procedures. Standard 11 is designed to ensure that all workers meet the safety requirements set by the mining industry and are equipped to handle the specific risks associated with mining operations. Upon successful completion, participants are certified to work on mine sites in compliance with Queensland’s mining safety regulations.
