The time at HaloNT (Gold Coast) is:

CONSTRUCTION

The qualifications framework and units of competency for the sectors of the Construction Industry have been traditionally presented in three separate Training Packages (General Construction, Plumbing and Services, and Off-site Construction). The formation of the CPC08 Training Package began a process of consolidating those three Training Packages into a distinctive Construction and Plumbing Services Training Package.

In addition to updating of competencies and qualifications to meet the ongoing needs of industry, the new CPC08 Training Package represents a broad rationalisation of the three Packages.  The review project aimed to ensure that all three Packages were better aligned, and that CPC08 would encompass a broad 'integrated framework' that would avoid duplication of skills and allow for more flexibility in qualifications.

The construction industry is the second largest contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the Australian economy at nearly 7.8 percent. The industry covers residential, non-residential and prefabricated buildings. The industry is strongly influenced by economic cycles and therefore corresponding shortages or over-supplies in industry skills and qualified workers. The Construction industry, like most other sectors, faced challenging business conditions since the GFC and will likely continue to do so in 2014-15.

The construction industry has a workforce of 995,300 which is the third largest workforce of all Australian workers. Some of the leading national enterprises include Leighton Holdings, Downer EDI Limited, Lend Lease Group, and Fletcher Building Ltd. Halo Nation Training Pty Ltd (HaloNT) has industry Partners who provide training and assessing services to many of these leading national enterprises.
